PROFILE

The Faculty of Health and Allied Science (FHAS) is the latest Faculty and one of the fastest-growing Faculties of the University.  The student population has increased since its inception in the 2015/2016 academic year, from 103 to 472 students. Presently, it has two Departments, Biomedical Engineering Technology and Medical Laboratory Technology.

The mandate of the Faculty is to provide quality training, research and services in health and related fields in Ghana.  Some of the main courses undertaken in the Faculty are: Hematology, Parasitology, Histology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Virology, Histo-pathology, Biomechanics, Biosensors, Bioinformatics, Medical Physics/Medical Imaging, Biomaterials, Medical Image/Signal Processing, Design and Construction of Medical Instrumentation, Rehabilitation Engineering, Hospital Equipment Management

To produce competent Health and Allied Health professionals and to become a reputable Health Research Center in Africa.

Mission Statement

To provide high-quality academic training through dedicated teaching and research in the health and allied sciences for the benefit of the citizens of Ghana.
