Engr. Agyenim-Boateng is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering with core responsibilities in teaching Mechanical Engineering related courses such as strength of materials, mechanics of machines, materials science and Engineering, Thermodynamics, etc. He has also been actively involved in the supervision of project work, dissertation and thesis of HND and BTech Mechanical Engineering students. He has also been serving on some departmental and Faculty level committees.
His general research areas include material surface strengthening techniques, hydrogen embrittlement resistance of alloys, fatigue and tensile strength improvement. His current research interest is in utilizing laser peening to improve the hydrogen embrittlement resistance of alloys. He has experience in making presentations at academic research conferences. He seeks to partner and collaborate with other researchers in the field to conduct research in mutual areas of interest. He is also a reviewer for some reputable Elsevier journals. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D program in Mechanical Engineering at Jiangsu University, China PR.
He has a special interest in coaching and counseling students in order to enable them maximize their potential.
