About the Faculty

The Faculty of Business and Management Studies is the largest Faculty in the University. Its mandate is to provide academically sound, professionally driven, highly qualified and skilled middle-level manpower to contribute to the growth of Ghana’s economy. The Faculty is made up of the Office of the Dean, six (6) Academic Departments — Accountancy, Procurement and Supply Science, Marketing, Liberal Studies, Secretaryship and Management Studies, and Professional Studies — as well as an Administrative section.

It was established in the 1997 academic year to run one programme, HND Accountancy. Its departments now offer Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) degree programmes, along with the Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) with options in various disciplines.

It is the largest Faculty in the University with over 4,000 students. It has competent academic and administrative staff who perform their functions diligently to meet the objectives of the Faculty.

Mission

The Faculty of Business and Management Studies is a centre of excellence, providing high-quality teaching and training, research and outreach in Business and allied disciplines. The Mission is accomplished primarily through instruction, simulation, and collaboration with industry and supported by applied research and services.

Dean's Message

The Office of the Dean is the Central Authority of the Faculty and oversees the running of both the Academic and Administrative jurisdictions of the Faculty. The Dean represents the Faculty at the Management level of the University.

The Faculty focuses on curricula that facilitate professional career development in the private and public sectors of the economy. The role of technology in decision-making is emphasised through the integration of information and communication technology (ICT). The Faculty is committed to being a national and regional leader in the preparation of students for a viable career in business and industry.
