Gladys Apreh Siaw (Dr. Mrs.)

Gladys Apreh Siaw is a lecturer from the Hospitality Department of Koforidua Technical University.  She holds a PhD in Hospitality Management and has taught for over 20 years with over 10 years of her teaching carrier in a tertiary institution. Her research interests are in management and surveillance of common health hazards and working conditions, occupational health and safety, work design characteristics and food product development. She was the immediate past Head of Department of the hospitality department and currently the Acting Programmes Coordinator in charge of Examinations, Hospitality Department of Koforidua Technical University

Research Interest

My research areas include health hazards in the hotels and occupational health and safety of housekeepers with interest in the working conditions of the hotel housekeepers

Other interests include housekeeping operations, health and safety of hotel staff,  Safety of guest, Leisure Safety, Kitchen Safety, Playground Safety. I have keen interest in welfare of hotel staff and Waste Management in the hotels.

Professional Activities

  • Provide academic leadership for all staff and students in the Hospitality Department
  • Lecture HND students in Accommodation Operations
  • lecture Bachelor of Technology (BTECH) Students in Modern Trends in Hospitality and Tourism Management and Leadership and Professional Development
  • Supervise, mark and assess Students’ research work and Carrier counselling
  • Proposal Defence: organising and moderating the proposal defence of the Bachelor of Technology Hospitality and Tourism Management students
  • Provide consultation and training for hotels staff
  • Coordinates all examination activities in the Hospitality Department
