Ms. Evelyn Fafa Adom was appointed the Registrar of Koforidua Technical University on December 1, 2023. She joined the University, then a Polytechnic, as a Senior Administrative Assistant in November 2004. Ms. Adom holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Social Science, with options in Accounting and Management, from the University of Cape Coast, and a Master of Science degree in Educational Management, Evaluation, and Assessment from the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management
(CIHRM) Ghana and a Professional Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and
Management Consultants (CIAMC) Ghana. She has valuable cross-cultural experience and has
participated in numerous local and international conferences and workshops, making
significant contributions to her professional growth and the advancement of university
administration practices.
Ms. Adom is a seasoned management professional with over two decades of practical
experience in higher education administration. She has served in various units and divisions of
the University Registry and was promoted to the rank of Deputy Registrar in 2017. Throughout
her career, she has held key positions, including Head of Admissions, Head of Examinations,
Alumni Relations Officer, Head of Human Resources, and Head of Industrial Liaison and
Sports. She has actively contributed to ad-hoc and statutory committees of both the Governing
Council and the University’s Academic Board, where her insights and dedication have
consistently influenced institutional policy and practice.
She is an organised, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and dedicated professional, admired for her
calm demeanor, collaborative leadership, and strategic mindset. Ms Adom has been recognized
with awards of high merit by the University and is known for fostering a positive administrative
culture grounded in professionalism, accountability, and respect. She also serves as an external
assessor for a number of technical universities across Ghana, contributing to capacity building
and quality assurance in tertiary education.
Ms. Adom is committed to advancing the mission and vision of Koforidua Technical
University. She pledges her unalloyed service and support toward strategic leadership,
innovative administrative solutions, and the continuous promotion of integrity, excellence, and
transparency in institutional governance. She believes in building efficient systems and
mentoring younger professionals to uphold ethical standards and service-oriented leadership in
university administration.
As the first female to be groomed internally by the University for the high office of Registrar,
Ms Adom inspires a new generation of young women to dream boldly and rise to leadership,
breaking traditional glass ceilings. She serves as a role model and mentor, especially for young
professionals navigating careers in academic administration.
She is an alumnus of Accra Girls Senior High School, a staunch Christian, and an active
member of the Priests Sanctuary Ministry in Ghana. Her interests include experimenting with
new recipes, creative writing, gospel music, and dancing, all of which reflect her vibrant
personality and balanced approach to life.
