QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  1. PROFESSOR

A person seeking appointment as Professor must:

  • Nationally and internationally be acknowledged as a teacher, scholar and innovator in his/her field with significant contribution to industrial innovations, as well as contribution to the intellectual and professional reputation of his /her University;
  • Have been appointed as Professor in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere.
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization in one or more of the areas listed above;
  • Show evidence of capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publications;
  • Have a minimum of twenty-six (26) publications in recognized reputable peer reviewed journals, at least, ten (10) of which must have been published after promotion to the grade of Associate Professor;

Note:  Evidence of industry experience and membership of recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

  1. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

A person seeking appointment as Associate Professor must:

  • Have been appointed as Associate Professor in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere.
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
  • Show evidence of outstanding performance in teaching, research and industry-related innovations in the candidate’s subject area, as well as, contribution to the intellectual and professional reputation of his/her University;
  • Demonstrate capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publications;
  • Have a minimum of sixteen (16) publications in recognized reputable peer reviewed journals, at least ten (10) of which must have been published after promotion to the Senior Lecturer grade;
  • Provide evidence of other research/professional activity/products/invention/innovation.

 Note:    Evidence of industry experience and membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.

  1. SENIOR LECTURER

A person seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer must:

  • Have been appointed as Senior Lecturer in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
  • Have taught for a minimum of six (6) years as a Lecturer;
  • Have a minimum of six (6) publications in recognized reputable peer reviewed journals;
  • Provide evidence of other research / professional activity/products/ invention/ innovation.

  1. LECTURER

A person seeking appointment as Lecturer must:

  • Have been appointed as Lecturer in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
  • Have some appreciable industrial experience or skills in competency – Based Training (CBT).
  • Have completed National Service.

  1. ASSISTANT LECTURER

A person seeking appointment as Assistant   Lecturer must:

  • Possess a research Master’s degree in the relevant field of specialization, and
  • Have some appreciable industrial experience or skills in competency-Based Training (CBT).
  • Have completed National Service.

Note: Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage. The Assistant Lecturer position is a temporary one for a period of two (2) years and renewable for a further period of two (2) years only; and may terminate unless the applicant registers for and obtains a terminal degree. Specific Roles: A person seeking appointment as a Guidance & Counseling Officer shall be required to show high quality sound judgment, initiative resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in the area of specialization. The Guidance & Counseling Officer shall be responsible to the Dean of Students in the management of the Guidance and Counseling Department. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling services to students and staff members to ease academic and social stress.
  • Organize training workshops/seminars on guidance and counseling and life-planning skills.
  • Initiate plans and programmes to address life challenges faced by students in academic environment.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students with identified concerns and needs.
  • Train peer educators and peer mediators in the Institution.
  • Ensure that clients’ who required special attention are given the necessary attention by the appropriate authority or expert.
  • Design structured lessons to help students achieve the desired competencies in learning and research.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED  A person seeking appointment as a Guidance & Counseling Officer must:

  • Possess a minimum of research Master’s degree in the relevant field and must have at least eight (8) years post-qualification experience. OR
  • Must have served as Assistant Guidance and Counseling Officer for at least six (6) years in a tertiary institution.

Note:  Evidence of industry experience and membership of recognized Professional Body will be an added advantage. In addition;

  • The applicant shall be required to produce a write-up on work done at current grade,
  • Based on work output for two (2) External Assessors evaluation.
  1. PROCUREMENT OFFICER

The University is seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and seasoned professional for employment as a Procurement Officer. Specific Roles: The Procurement Officer is the head of the Procurement Office and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor through the Registrar. He/she shall, among other duties, supervise the maintenance and updating of proper database of suppliers, service providers and consultants, prepare procurement plans for goods, works and services for the University, assist in answering queries raised by appropriate authority on procurement activities, assist in implementing systems and procedures to ensure value for money in the entity procurement activities, assist in the process of advertising tenders and provide input for the formulation of procurement strategy for the University.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 

A person seeking appointment as Procurement Officer must:

  • Hold a minimum of research Master’s degree in Procurement Management, or related areas;
  • Have a professional qualification in Procurement;
  • Have served as a Senior Assistant Procurement Officer in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least six (6) years;
  • Be computer literate and must be abreast of relevant software applications.

Submit a short vision statement not exceeding three (3) pages outlining how he/she will manage the procurement functions of the University effectively and efficiently to promote the mandate of the Procurement Office and that of the University.

  • Be registered as a member of a recognized and relevant professional body. 
  1. DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

The University is seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and seasoned professional for employment as Deputy Director of Finance. JOB SUMMARY The core roles of the Deputy Director of Finance are to coordinate and supervise all accounting functions, financial analysis and the budget development and administration process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Among the key responsibilities of the Deputy Director of Finance are to:

  • Assist the Director of Finance for overall management and administration of the office as provided in the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922).
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of the University’s Consolidated Financial Statement and Financial Reports.
  • Prepare quarterly University Management Accounts and semester Financial Report.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of monthly financial reports of Faculties and Internally Generated Fund (IGF) units.
  • Manage receivables, revenue and payables and reconciliation of internally Generated Fund.
  • Responsible for the control and maintenance of all financial transactions and accounting records in compliance with International Public Sector Standards (IPSAS) and applicable government regulations.
  • Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedure.
  • Supervise the preparation of the University’s operating budget, oversee multi-year fiscal planning and co-ordinate annual audit and preparation of monthly variance reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The applicant must:

  • Possess a research Master’s degree in Finance/ Accounting, or Accounting & Finance
  • Be a Chartered Accountant with membership of a recognized professional body such as ACCA, ICA, CPA, CPFA, CIMA.
  • Must have served as a Senior Accountant in a University for at least for at least six (6) years OR from industry OR public practice with at least ten (10) years managerial experience.
  • The applicant shall be required to support his/her application with papers and publication for two (2) External Assessors evaluation.
  • Must be computer literate and conversant with accounting software applications and financial modelling.

In addition, applicant must:

  1. DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AUDIT

The University is seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and seasoned professional for employment as Deputy Director of Internal Audit. JOB SUMMARY The core roles of the Deputy Director of Internal Audit are to coordinate and supervise all auditing functions, management and administrative processes KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Among the key responsibilities of the Deputy Director of Audit are to:

  • Assist the Director of Internal Audit to oversee all functions as provided in the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922) and other national laws and regulations relating to finance and audit.
  • Control and maintain all financial transactions and accounting records in compliance with general accounting standards and applicable government regulations;
  • Review all monthly and annual financial reports for compliance and accuracy;
  • Ensure proper fiscal reporting;
  • Prepare operating budget, oversee multi-year fiscal planning and coordinate annual audit;
  • Assist in the analysis of all budgets for review by the Director of Audit;
  • Plan, direct, coordinate and review all personnel of the Audit Directorate;
  • Develop, implement and maintain auditing and administrative policies and procedures of the University.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The applicant must:

  • Possess a minimum of research Master’s Degree in Finance/ Accounting or relevant field,
  • Be a Chartered Accountant with membership with recognized professional bodies such as ACCA/ ICA/ CPA;
  • Have served as a Senior Internal Auditor in a University for at least six (6) years OR from industry OR public practice with at least ten (10) years managerial experience.
  • The applicant shall be required to support his/her application with papers and publication for two (2) External Assessors evaluation.
  • Must be computer literate and conversant with accounting/auditing software applications.

In addition, applicant must:

  • Be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary;
  • Possess hands-on ability to work independently;
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal Skills; accounting and auditing software;
  • Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines;

  1. MEDICAL DOCTORS (SURGEON, GYNAECOLOGIST & GENERAL PRACTITIONER)

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED  Applicants must:

  • Be qualified in the relevant field of specialization with six (6) years’ experience
  • Hold an MBChB or its equivalent in the relevant field.
  • Be a qualified Medical Doctor duly registered by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council;
  • Have practiced in institutions of similar standing.
  • Have completed housemanship.
  1. LEGAL OFFICER

Specific Roles: Legal Officer who will head the University Legal Office and will be responsible to the Registrar.  He/she shall be required to show high qualities of sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in the area of specialization. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • The Legal Officer shall be responsible for all legal matters of the University which shall include but not limited to;
  • Advising the Vice-Chancellor on contracts being entered into by the University.
  • Handling legal suits against the University at the Courts of Justice and adjudicating bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The applicant must:

  • Possess LLB and BL degrees and be a qualified Lawyer, duly called to the Bar by the Ghana Bar Association;
  • Have six (6) years post-qualification experience at the Bar;
  • Have practiced in institutions of similar standing;
  • Have completed National Service.

In addition,

  • The applicants shall be required to produce a write-up on work done as a Practicing Lawyer, based on work output, for two (2) External Assessors’ evaluation.
  1. ICT OFFICER

Specific Roles: A person seeking appointment as an ICT Officer shall be required to show high quality sound judgment, initiative resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in the area of specialization. He/she shall be responsible to the Registrar. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the University’s computer database system runs efficiently;
  • Initiate and advise Management on updates and implementation of ICT strategies;
  • Ensure proper maintenance of internet connectivity in the University;
  • Maintain and update the University’s website;
  • Advise Management on the establishment of ICT standards and architectures;
  • Plan and implement network security, including setting up of firewalls, managing host security, applying security to network applications, and regulating file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, data security etc;
  • Advise on formulation of acceptable user policies and guidelines, manuals, user notes and system standards
  • Advise Management on technical designs and development of computer and telecommunication softwares, networks, and information systems, and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Registrar or his representative

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED   The applicant must: Hold a minimum of research Master’s degree in Information Technology and must have at least eight (8) years post-qualification experience in a senior management position in Information Technology Management in a tertiary institution, industry or any relevant public service organization. OR Must have served as an Assistant ICT Officer for at least four (4) years.

  1. ESTATE OFFICER

Specific Roles: A person seeking appointment as an Estate Officer shall be required to show high quality of sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in the area of specialization. Duties and Responsibilities The Estate Officer is the overall head of the Estate Department.  He/she shall work towards the Director of Works and Physical Development and functions in tandem with the Office of Works and Physical Development as provided for in the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922) and the guiding Statutes. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED   The applicant must:

  • Hold a minimum of research Master’s degree in Built Environment/Land Economy/Estate Management or relevant area of study plus relevant professional qualification.
  • Must have served as Estate Officer in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least six (6) years.
  • Must be computer literate
  • The applicant shall be required to support his/her application with papers and publication for two (2) External Assessors evaluation.
  1. SENIOR ASSISTANT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Specific Roles: A person seeking appointment as a Senior Assistant Development Officer shall be required to show high quality of sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in the area of specialization. Duties and Responsibilities The Senior Assistant Development Officer shall assist the Director of Works and Physical Development in the overall administration of the Works and Physical Development Office and functions as provided for in the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922) and the guiding Statutes. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The applicant must:

  • Hold a minimum of research Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying /Architecture/Civil Engineering plus relevant professional qualification.
  • Must have served as Assistant Development Officer in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least six (6) years.
  • Must be computer literate
  • The applicant shall be required to support his/her application with papers and publication for two (2) External Assessors evaluation.
  1. DISPENSING TECHNICIAN The applicant for Dispensing Technician position must:
  • Have the Dispensing Technician’s Diploma or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution, and be duly registered by the Pharmacy Council of Ghana;
  • Have completed National Service.
  1. SENIOR NURSING OFFICER

Specific Roles: The Senior Nursing Officer shall be required to show high quality of sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, precision. Staff should be able to critically assess cases within the scope of approved regulation. The Senior Nursing Officer shall perform the duties of a Nursing Officer at a higher level of responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED A person seeking appointment as a Senior Nursing Officer must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing/Midwifery from a recognized and accredited institution;
  • Be a State Registered Nurse (SRN) registered with the Nurses and Midwifery Council/Diploma of Nursing from a recognized and accredited institution and must have served as Nursing Officer in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least four (4) years;
  • Have completed National service
  1. SENIOR ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

 Specific Roles: The Senior Accounting Assistant shall be required to show sound judgment, a high sense of responsibility, initiative and discretion. A Senior Accounting Assistant shall perform various accounting duties, which include:

  • Preparation of Statements of Accounts;
  • Preparation of Bank Reconciliation Statement;
  • Checking and verifying current accounts;
  • Dealing with relevant correspondence

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED  The applicant must:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related subject area awarded by a recognized institution; OR
  • Possess HND (Accountancy) or related subject area awarded by a recognized institution and must have served as Accounting Assistant in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution /organization for a minimum of four (4) years.  OR
  • Possess relevant part of Professional Qualification (such as CA, CIMA, ACCA, etc.) with two (2) years relevant working experience.
  • Have completed National Service.
  1.  ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

 Specific Roles: The Accounting Assistant shall be required to show sound judgment, a high sense of responsibility, initiative and discretion. The Accounting Assistant shall perform various accounting duties, which include:

  • Preparation of Statements of Accounts
  • Checking and verifying current accounts;
  • Preparation of Bank Reconciliation Statements;
  • Attending to correspondence;
  • Supervising the work of lower grades

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The applicant must:

  • Possess HND in Accounting or related area awarded by a recognized institution;
  • Have completed National Service.
  1. LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

   Specific Roles:

 The Technician shall be required to work under the direction and supervision of superiors. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The applicant must:

  1. Possess an HND in relevant field awarded by a recognized institution. OR
  2. Possess Part (III) of relevant Technician Certificate;
  3. Be computer literate;
  4. Have completed National Service
